Annual inflation is 16 percent

The prices of products and services of personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index, in September compared to August were on average 1.4 percent higher, according to data from the Montenegrin Institute of Statistics, Monstat.

In September, compared to the same month last year, consumer prices were on average 16 percent higher.

“The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups of clothing, milk, cheese and eggs, vegetables, shoes and other footwear, fruit, meat, hairdressing services and other personal care services, as well as solid fuels,” they said from Monstata, reports Mina.

In the period from January to September, compared to the same period last year, consumer prices are on average 11.6 percent higher.

Observed by the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption in September, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups of clothing and footwear by 8.8 percent, other goods and services by 3.8 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages by two percent, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance 1.4 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and recreation and culture 0.6 percent each, health 0.2 percent and education 0.1 percent.

The drop in prices was recorded in the restaurants and hotels groups by 5.2 percent and transportation by 0.4 percent, Biznis reports.
