At the session held yesterday, the Government of Montenegro adopted information about the interest of the Montenegrin branch of the China Road and Bridge Corporation Montenegro Branch (CRBC) for potential projects.
The information states that this company, together with the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), implemented the construction project of the priority section of the Smokovac – MateÅ¡evo highway.
Also, this company conducted detailed studies, prepared a commercial study, framework conditions, a draft of general conditions, as well as a technical proposal for the next two sections of the highway MateÅ¡evo – Andrijevica and Andrijevica – Boljare.
– The construction of the next two sections of the highway represents a real need, because with their construction, Montenegro will be connected to other European countries via the Pan-European Corridor 11.
Apart from the highway project, the Chinese company expressed its interest in discussing with the Government the implementation of other infrastructure and energy projects. On this occasion, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Capital Investments are in charge of continuing discussions with the Montenegrin branch of CRBC, in order to define opportunities for potential cooperation.
As a reminder, at the end of March 2023, the Montenegrin branch of CRBC sent the Ministry of Finance a letter of interest in the implementation of potential projects in Montenegro. The recommendation of the Chinese company is that the sections MateÅ¡evo – Andrijevica and Andrijevica – Boljare should be implemented through a private-public partnership model.
Apart from the highway project, the Chinese company expressed its interest in discussing the implementation of other infrastructure and energy projects with the Government of Montenegro, stressing that it considers Montenegro a strategic partner in long-term development.
