In Montenegro there is about 179,000 tourists

According to preliminary data from local tourist organizations, this year’s summer tourist season is better than the previous one, announced the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro.

– According to these data, on August 17th, about 179,000 tourists stayed in Montenegro, which is about 9% more compared to the previous year and an achievement of 90% compared to 2019. According to the same data, about 44,000 tourists rest in Montenegrin hotels, which is 6% more compared to the same period last year and even 18% more compared to 2019 – announced the representative of NTOCG, Milena Vujović.

– One of the most authoritative indicators of the realization of the tourist season is the income from the residence tax. Since the beginning of the year and ending on August 17th, the income amounts to EUR 1.44 million, which is 35% more compared to the same period of the previous year. Also, from January 1st to July 31st, the airports of Montenegro served 1,353,618 passengers, which is 95% of the results from the comparative period of 2019, Vujović pointed out.

The National Parks of Montenegro can also boast of good attendance, which was visited by over 420,000 visitors from the beginning of the year to August 13th, which is 45% more compared to the same period of the previous year and about 25% more compared to 2019.

When it comes to the structure of guests, during the first six months the largest number of tourists was recorded from the markets of Russia, Serbia, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Turkey and Great Britain. Also, a significant increase in the number of guests from new broadcasting markets is also being recorded.
