The start of work on the second section of the highway will be next year

Dynamic infrastructural development is one of the main goals of the Government and an important prerequisite for the intensification of economic activities, it was said at the meeting of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić with representatives of foreign investors in Montenegro.

Spajić introduced the interlocutors with plans for the development of traffic and railway infrastructure and in this context announced the start of work on the second section of the highway during the next year.

– We believe in economic changes and the creation of new values ​​for our citizens. To that end, it is necessary to work uncompromisingly on the elimination of the informal economy and business barriers – said the Prime Minister.

Representatives of the Council of Foreign Investors introduced the Prime Minister to the Strategy for the period 2024 – 2026 and expressed their belief that Montenegro can be the most competitive country for investments in the region.

– We are encouraged by the Government’s willingness to determine more effectively the identified challenges facing foreign investors. We believe that special attention will be focused on careful decision-making that can affect the entire economy, with special emphasis on tax policy and further harmonization of the legal framework with European standards – said TamaÅ¡ KamaraÅ¡i, President of the Council of Foreign Investors in Montenegro and President of the Board of Directors of Montenegro commercial banks (CKB).

At the meeting, it was also assessed that the strengthening of the infrastructure, digitization of the database and support for small and medium-sized enterprises are important for the continuation of the economic development of Montenegro.

In order to realize the defined goals as efficiently as possible, the willingness to organize regular meetings of representatives of the Government and the Council of Foreign Investors in Montenegro has been expressed.
