In all national parks during the past year, a higher number of tourists was recorded, announced by the Montenegrin National Parks (NPCG), adding that they believe the positive visitation trends will continue.
Representatives of the NPCG, in cooperation with the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTO), participated in the International Specialized Fair for Active Tourism in Munich from February 14th to 18th.
According to the NPCG, this is one of the most visited fairs in the southern part of Germany, attracting over 140,000 visitors.
“The most valuable natural areas of Montenegro and their attractive tourism offer based on nature attract an increasing number of both domestic and international visitors year after year,” the statement said.
It is stated that the participation in such tourism events is of great importance.
Such events, it is added, provide an opportunity for potential tourists to learn about hiking, mountaineering, and educational trails, cultural and historical landmarks, rafting and rafting on the Tara River, visiting glacial lakes, kayaking and cruising, birdwatching, tasting local food in mountain huts, and other activities.
It is emphasized that during all days of the fair promotion, there was great interest in national parks, and visitors were most interested in cycling and camping in nature.
“During 2023, a higher number of tourists was recorded in all national parks. We believe that the positive visitation trends will continue in the future, and that participation in fair appearances will contribute to more efficient promotion of the tourist offer of protected areas, their natural values, and beauties,” the statement concludes.
