Montenegro’s Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, has affirmed that the recent push for increased Chinese investments in Montenegro underscores the enduring strength of the countries’ bilateral relations.
In a recent meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Montenegro, Fan Kun, Vukićević emphasized that existing collaborative projects, notably the highway construction, illustrate the longstanding and positive partnership between the two nations.
Vukićević expressed appreciation for Ambassador Kun’s supportive remarks and highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects. These include the Smokovac-Mateševo section of the Bar-Boljare highway, developed by Chinese company CRBC under a loan from Exim Bank, and the ongoing construction of the Tivat-Jaz boulevard by a Shandong-based company.
She noted the fruitful cooperation to date and expressed enthusiasm for continuing efforts to attract further investment.
The discussion also acknowledged China’s role as a key partner, particularly in infrastructure development, and the commitment to enhancing economic ties through additional joint projects.
Furthermore, the Chinese Embassy has donated a new hybrid vehicle to the Ministry of Transport to bolster the vehicle fleet, promote green transportation, and support environmental conservation. This gesture reflects China’s priority in strengthening its economic relations with Montenegro.
