Montenegro sees salary increase in November 2024, with notable growth in key sectors

In November 2024, three municipalities in Montenegro recorded average salaries exceeding 1,000 euros: Podgorica at 1,039 euros, Tivat at 1,243 euros, and Zeta at 1,159 euros, according to Monstat data.

The average salary, excluding taxes and contributions, was 993 euros, reflecting a 5.2% increase compared to October.

  • Berane: 898 euros
  • Bijelo Polje: 851 euros
  • Budva: 983 euros
  • Cetinje: 967 euros
  • Danilovgrad: 870 euros
  • Gusinje: 796 euros
  • Herceg Novi: 911 euros
  • KolaÅ¡in: 863 euros
  • Kotor: 987 euros
  • Mojkovac: 852 euros
  • NikÅ¡ić: 969 euros
  • Petnjica: 809 euros
  • Plav: 869 euros
  • Pljevlja: 983 euros

  • Podgorica: 1,039 euros

The average net salary in November marked a 23% increase compared to the same month the previous year.

The average gross salary in November was recorded at 1,180 euros.

With consumer prices rising by 0.2% in November compared to October, real wages saw a 5% increase for the same period.

In terms of sector performance, the average salaries excluding taxes and contributions saw increases across various industries compared to October, notably in:

  • Financial and insurance activities: +21.2%
  • Real estate activities: +12.7%
  • Manufacturing: +11.1%
  • Information and communication: +8.9%
  • Mining of ores and stones: +8%
  • Construction: +7.9%
  • Wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicle and motorcycle repair: +6.8%
  • Other service activities: +6%
  • Administrative and support service activities: +4.3%
  • Accommodation and food services: +3.6%

There was also notable growth in the following sectors:

  • Water supply, waste management, process control, waste disposal and related activities: +3.1%
  • Health and social protection: +3.1%
  • Arts, entertainment and recreation: +3.1%
  • Professional, scientific and technical activities: +2.5%
  • Transport and storage: +2.4%
  • Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply: +2%
  • Public administration and defense, compulsory social security: +1.2%

However, the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector experienced a decline in average salaries, which dropped by 9.7%.
