More than 200,000 vehicles pass through Montenegro’s Princeza Ksenija highway in 2025

Since the beginning of this year, 206,160 vehicles have passed through the Princeza Ksenija highway, according to data from Monteput’s website.

In 2024, a total of 2.87 million vehicles traveled on the highway, compared to 2.29 million in 2023 and 1.14 million in 2022.

The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and traffic started the following day.

The first seven days were toll-free. After that, the toll for motorcycles is 1.5 EUR, for passenger vehicles 3.5 EUR, and for trucks and buses 17 EUR.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, with 20 bridges along the main route, nine bridges at the ramps of the interchanges, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin tunnels.

The section includes four interchanges with toll booths, connecting the highway to existing roads: Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit is set at 100 kilometers per hour.
