“These policies are gaining renewed importance as they aim to address market failures, such as environmental degradation,” the EBRD stated. However, their effectiveness has shown mixed results so far.

The growing popularity of industrial policies is driven by domestic political and economic factors, as well as rising geopolitical tensions.

“While industrial policies are typically used by high-income economies, they are increasingly being adopted by countries with lower administrative and fiscal capacities,” the statement added.

At the presentation, EBRD’s Head in Montenegro, Remon Zakaria, will review the institution’s results from the past year, while EBRD Director Zsoka Koczan will present the key findings of the Transition Report.

The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, starting at 10 AM.
