Montenegro offers vast potential and numerous benefits for investment, according to Nina Drakić, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG). Speaking at a business forum in Caen, France, organized as part of Montenegro Days in Normandy, Drakić emphasized the strong and diverse ties with Normandy, which she described as a symbol of France’s industrial strength.

Drakić noted a growing interest among French companies in the Montenegrin market in recent years. Trade between the two countries exceeded 110 million euros last year, with major imports including vehicles, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, and industrial equipment. Although Montenegrin exports to France remain modest, they are on a steady upward trajectory.

She stated that the forum marks another significant step in strengthening cooperation with key French institutions such as the French Embassy in Montenegro, MEDEF International, the Normandy Regional Economic Development Agency, the Normandy Chamber of Commerce, and the French-Montenegrin Business Association.

Drakić also highlighted the growing popularity of Montenegro as a tourist destination among French citizens, with nearly 100,000 visiting annually. However, she emphasized the need to enhance direct investment from France, given Montenegro’s vast untapped opportunities and investment incentives.

She described the visit to Normandy as a reaffirmation of Montenegro’s commitment to deepening economic ties with a region that represents both European values and innovation. Normandy, as she noted, is a major energy hub, a leader in agricultural technology, and home to a strong pharmaceutical and shipbuilding industry. The regional capital Caen, with its large university population, further enhances opportunities for strategic cooperation.

French initiatives such as La French Tech, and Normandy’s focus on the circular economy, digital transformation, and climate action, align closely with Montenegro’s development priorities.

Montenegrin Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, encouraged companies from Normandy and beyond to consider Montenegro as a promising destination for investment, particularly in tourism and related services. She reiterated the country’s commitment to EU integration and openness to knowledge exchange and partnership building, with the aim of achieving a prosperous shared future.

Nenad Radović from the Montenegrin Government’s Investment Agency presented the country’s investment potential and thanked the Chamber of Commerce for its role in internationalizing Montenegro’s economy. The event concluded with B2B meetings where business representatives from both countries exchanged contacts and explored opportunities for collaboration.

Montenegro Days in Normandy were organized by the PKCG, in cooperation with the Montenegrin Embassy in France and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
