The top prize at the startup and entrepreneurship competition went to an innovative AI platform for early breast cancer detection developed by Elektrotehnicki fakultet student Aleksandar Drašković in Montenegro. The second and third places were awarded to the Smart Pill Dispenser device for smart medication dosing and the Stanarko app for secure property rentals, respectively.
The competition was organized by the University of Montenegro, its Career Development Office, Alumni Association, and Student Parliament, with a total prize fund of €10,000.
Drašković explained that his AI platform assists radiologists in early breast cancer diagnosis using local medical data, aiming to save lives and improve prevention in the region.
The second-place Smart Pill Dispenser, developed by students Mirko Kuburović and Daris Kajević, helps elderly and chronic patients take medication correctly and on time, reducing errors.
The third-place Stanarko app, created by Balša Vukićević and Stefan Kostić, facilitates safe and transparent short-term property rentals by connecting owners and renters.
Finalists also presented ideas such as Perun 2.0, a secure online shopping platform, and Mindware, a digital platform for psychological support and violence prevention.
The University’s Career Center director, Ivica Todorović, praised the finalists’ dedication and emphasized the university’s focus on fostering student innovation and a supportive environment for young changemakers.
The event included an alumni panel where graduates shared their career paths, highlighting the importance of practical experience, international exchange, student activism, and determination in professional growth.
The evening concluded with a performance by the University Sports and Cultural Center choir, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
