The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team, led by Srikant Seshadri, head of the IMF mission for Montenegro, is visiting Podgorica from September 15 to 26 for annual consultations under Article IV of the IMF’s Charter. The mission gathers current information on the country’s economy, outlook, and policies.
On the first day, IMF representatives met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Dr. Irena Radović, and Finance Minister Novica Vuković, along with their teams, to discuss key economic trends and measures to strengthen financial stability and public finances.
During the visit, the IMF team will also meet with private sector and academic representatives to evaluate Montenegro’s overall economic situation and policies for the upcoming period. Preliminary findings will be presented publicly on September 26 at a joint press conference with the Central Bank, Ministry of Finance, and IMF.
