Montenegro’s ports are recording record numbers of cruise ship arrivals, signaling the country’s potential as a major Mediterranean cruising destination, according to tourism officials. Experts emphasize the need to improve infrastructure and promote Montenegro at international trade fairs.

Bar Port attracts the most tourists from Western Europe, the U.S., Australia, and Asia, with high-spending visitors. On peak days this year, up to 90,000 tourists are expected to visit Bar, boosting the local tourism economy despite an underperforming season.

Kotor Port is also experiencing a record cruise season, with around 700,000 tourists expected from over 480 scheduled cruise arrivals, many of which have already docked.

Tourism officials note that Montenegrin citizens are increasingly taking cruises, which have become more affordable, and stress the importance of promoting the country internationally as a safe and attractive cruise destination.
