Tivat’s Tourism Organization (TOT) reported growth in tourist arrivals, stable finances, and progress in digital promotion during the first nine months of 2025. From January to August, the town recorded 125,000 arrivals, a 4% increase compared to last year, and over 1 million overnight stays. Most visitors came from Serbia, Russia, the UK, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Germany, and Israel, with a noticeable rise in tourists from the USA.
TOT generated €779,574 in revenue from tourist and membership fees, up 13% from 2024, while income from the nautical tax increased by 5% to €48,326. Key initiatives included the Montenegro Luxury Summit, VR experiences, virtual heritage presentations, new tourist maps, and a mobile app for private accommodation. The organization also ran 12 online campaigns with over 20 million impressions, and its promotional film “Mediterranean” won an award at FEST.
Tivat’s Mayor, Željko Komnenović, highlighted that the town confirmed its status as a leading Montenegrin coastal destination, with August and September exceeding expectations. The town hosted major events like the Ocean Race, attracting over 100,000 visitors, and Tivat Airport handled up to 12,000 passengers daily during peak season.
Surveys indicate that most visitors have high incomes, with many repeat tourists, and 50% choose private accommodation. Travel is mainly by car (59–60%), followed by air (33%). Key motivators include relaxation, dining, natural attractions, and cultural events. Tourists highly rated natural beauty, environmental preservation, and personal safety, while transport organization received the lowest marks, representing a challenge for local authorities.
TOT emphasized that Tivat combines natural beauty, quality service, and rich cultural offerings, but improvements in transport and infrastructure are essential for sustainable tourism growth and long-term competitiveness.
