Tourism in Montenegro rises 13% in September, reaching record levels

According to the latest data from Montenegro’s Statistical Office (Monstat), the country recorded a strong increase in tourism in September, with over 313,000 tourist arrivals, representing a 13% rise compared to the same month last year and 5% more than in September 2019.

Milena Vujačić from the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro said that more than 189,000 tourists stayed in hotels during September, marking an 8% increase year-on-year and 14% more than in 2019.

From January to September, Montenegro welcomed around 2.415 million tourists, up 5% compared to 2024 and 2% above 2019 levels.

Financial indicators also show growth, with dedicated tourism revenues exceeding €4 million as of October 29, about 5% higher than last year.

Vujačić noted that regional visitors remain the largest group, while a significant share of tourists came from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Israel, and the United States.
