The average net salary in Montenegro amounted to €1,016 in October, remaining unchanged compared to September, the Statistical Office (Monstat) announced.
Monstat’s data also show that the average gross salary reached €1,211, representing a 7.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
“Given that consumer prices in October recorded a 0.2% decrease compared to September, it follows that real wages increased by 0.2% over the same period,” the report stated.
By sectors, average net wages in October rose compared to the previous month in the following areas:
- Arts, entertainment and recreation – up 2.4%
- Financial and insurance activities – up 2.3%
- Other service activities – up 2%
- Manufacturing – up 1.9%
- Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – up 1.8%
- Professional, scientific and technical activities – up 1.8%
- Mining and quarrying – up 0.5%
- Human health and social work – up 0.2%
- Construction – up 0.1%
- Education – up 0.1%
A decrease in average net wages was recorded in several sectors:
- Agriculture, forestry and fishing – down 4.3%
- Real estate activities – down 3.1%
- Administrative and support services – down 2.2%
- Public administration and defence; compulsory social security – down 1.6%
- Accommodation and food services – down 1.3%
- Transportation and storage – down 1.1%
- Information and communication – down 0.5%
- Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – down 0.4%
- Water supply, wastewater management, waste collection and similar services – down 0.3%
