A direct air service between Skopje, North Macedonia, and Tivat, Montenegro, will start on 1 May 2027, with flights initially operating twice a week, North Macedonia’s Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski said at a joint news conference on 30 October 2026.
“The route will, for a start, operate twice a week,” Nikoloski said. He appeared alongside Filip Ivanović, Montenegro’s deputy prime minister, at the briefing. The service will connect the two countries’ cities.
Nikoloski expected the direct air link to increase passenger numbers and exchanges between the two countries, while supporting the development of tourism and business activity in both markets.
North Macedonia and Montenegro have also discussed ways to improve economic cooperation. They agreed to organise a business forum in 2027, with companies from both countries taking part. The forum is intended to open new opportunities for business connections, strengthen economic cooperation and encourage joint investment. It will bring firms together around those objectives, including stronger commercial links between the two countries and new opportunities to invest jointly.
