The National Bank of Serbia revoked Alta Bank a.d. Belgrade’s operating licence on 30 October 2026, after supervisory checks and a temporary measure, the regulator said. It said the action aimed to protect depositors and other creditors and prevent negative effects from spreading to society and the economy.

Depositors will be informed as soon as possible which bank will handle withdrawals of their insured deposits, capped at 50,000 euros. The National Bank of Serbia also said they would be told how to submit other claims and obtain payment.
