Air Montenegro, the national airline, serves as a vital pillar of Montenegrin tourism by providing direct connections between Montenegro and various European and global markets, company representatives announced.
“Our commitment and strategic connections to significant destinations have allowed us to transport over 1.35 million passengers in the past period. This not only boosts tourist traffic but also enhances Montenegro’s reputation as an attractive tourist destination,” the company stated in recognition of World Tourism Day.
The airline’s importance in advancing the country’s tourism sector is reflected in the consistent annual growth in passenger numbers.
“As the national carrier, we continuously expand our network of destinations, linking Montenegro with more markets each year and bringing in an increasing number of tourists. Official data shows we have transported the highest number of passengers and operated the most flights to our airports this year. We’ve seen a 2.23% increase in passengers transported compared to the same period last year, along with a 6.98% rise in the number of flights to our destinations,” the statement added.
This year, Air Montenegro has flown to markets such as Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Italy, Armenia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey, enriching the air traffic options and facilitating easier travel for tourists from these regions to Montenegro.
“We are proud to highlight that the steady increase in passenger numbers reflects the trust our travelers place in us and speaks to the quality of our services. We are committed to enhancing our offerings and expanding our destinations, contributing to the further development of tourism and the Montenegrin economy,” said Air Montenegro representatives.
Beyond its essential role in connecting Montenegro with the world and promoting the country as a desirable tourist destination, Air Montenegro actively supports local initiatives that enhance the nation’s tourism appeal through collaboration with local travel agencies, hotels, and organizations.
“We remain dedicated to modernizing and expanding our services to position Montenegro as a leading year-round destination on the international tourism map,” the statement concluded.
