The decision to boycott the Voli supermarket was made solely based on the results of a survey in which approximately 7,000 citizens participated, representing more than 1% of Montenegro’s total population. The survey was public and accessible to every individual. Of those surveyed, 64% expressed support for the boycott, clearly reflecting the will of the people, rather than the decision of the organization Alternativa Crna Gora.
This was stated by Zaria Pavićević from the organization Alternativa Crna Gora in response to what he described as false claims published in the newspaper Pobjeda, which wrongly labeled the organization as the initiator of the boycott of the “cheapest” supermarket.
Pavićević added that they firmly deny such claims.
“Alternative Montenegro, as a responsible and conscientious organization that has been operating solely in the interest of citizens for years, would never make unilateral decisions or manipulative attempts to influence public opinion. Such labeling neither contributes to the truth nor serves the public interest,” Pavićević wrote on his Facebook profile.
He further stated that the only legitimate address for any comments on this issue is the 64% of citizens who clearly expressed their stance through their votes, not Alternativa Crna Gora.
“We call on the Pobjeda newspaper to refrain from further false claims and to report on the matter professionally and objectively, without unfounded accusations or attempts to manipulate facts,” Pavićević wrote on Facebook.
