Andrijevica Municipality has announced plans to implement 126 development projects over the next four years, with a total estimated budget of at least €35 million. The projects aim to address demographic decline, foster economic growth, enhance tourism offerings, improve water supply, and strengthen waste management.
In the economic sector, the municipality plans to construct a water bottling plant in Sjenožeta, valued at €1 million, and develop a business zone with an associated municipal business catalog. Additional initiatives include supporting women’s entrepreneurship and creating an employment strategy. Rural infrastructure improvements include asphalting roads across multiple local communities, installing a water supply system for 14 households in Trešnjevo, and constructing a road connection between Mojanski katun, Carine, and Bolja to better link Andrijevica with Podgorica and promote the Komovi area.
Sports infrastructure is also a focus, with plans to build a new sports hall, reconstruct the city stadium, construct at least five playgrounds, and build sports halls to promote sports tourism. Investments will also be made in electricity supply upgrades, energy planning, and digitalization of local government services through e-services for residents.
Tourism development includes building an adventure camp with at least ten attractions, projected to attract 5,000 visitors annually. Winter tourism will be enhanced with a six-kilometer cable car on Jelovica, alongside preparatory studies for routes to Komovi and Balj. Additionally, the municipality plans to construct at least 10 kilometers of cycling and walking paths, an info center, adapt the former Đulići military post, and establish an eco-hut in Rujišta. Cultural heritage preservation is also prioritized, with conservation and reconstruction planned for ten World War I and II monuments.
Environmental projects include the removal and remediation of 15 illegal dumps, construction of 10 kilometers of sewage networks, and a wastewater treatment plant covering another 10 kilometers of pipelines. Monitoring equipment such as drones and cameras will be purchased to track environmental hazards, alongside a multifunctional vehicle for water and sewage operations. Investments will also go toward reconstructing the city water network, building pump stations in Slatina and Seoce, reforesting 50 hectares of degraded and burned land, and running the “Green Andrijevica” campaign to increase public environmental awareness.
The strategic development plan demonstrates a comprehensive approach to improving Andrijevica’s economic, tourism, and environmental infrastructure, while enhancing the quality of life for residents and promoting sustainable growth.
