According to Monstat data, the average salary without taxes and contributions in March amounted to EUR 781 and was 1.3 percent higher than in February.
The average net salary in March, compared to the same month last year, increased by 10.9 percent. The average gross salary in March was EUR 970.
In the first quarter of this year, compared to the fourth quarter of last year, the average gross salary recorded a growth of 6.9 percent.
Average wages without taxes and contributions in March compared to February increased in the sectors real estate business by 10.5 percent, information and communications by 7.3 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 5.1 percent, state administration and defense: mandatory social insurance 2.7 percent, construction 2.6 percent, financial and insurance activities 2.4 percent.
Growth was also recorded in the sectors manufacturing industry 2.2 percent, other service activities 2.1 percent, water supply and waste water management 1.7 percent, wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles one percent, mining of ore and stone 0.4 percent and education 0.2 percent.
The decline in net earnings in March compared to the previous month was recorded in the administrative and auxiliary service sectors by 2.2 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishing by 2 percent, accommodation and food services by 1.2 percent, health and social care by 0.8 percent, artistic, entertainment and recreational activities 0.6 percent, professional, scientific and technical activities 0.4 percent and traffic and storage 0.3 percent.
