Azerbaijan interested in further investment in Montenegrin infrastructure

The Head of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Montenegro, Azad Nagijev, during the conversation with the President of the Committee for International Relations and Emigrants, Miodrag Lekić, pointed out the great interest of Azerbaijan in further investment in Montenegrin infrastructure, as well as in intensifying cooperation in the field of tourism.

As announced by the Parliament of Montenegro, Nagiyev assessed that numerous bilateral agreements, signed between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of Azerbaijan, are an excellent basis for further improvement of the already well-developed relations.

“He pointed out the great interest of the Azerbaijani side in further investment in Montenegrin infrastructure, as well as in intensifying cooperation in the field of tourism,” the announcement states, reports RTCG.

Nagiyev informed Lekić about the current events in that country, especially referring to the frozen conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Lachin Corridor, as well as the latest incident that happened to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Lekić stated that the bilateral relations between Montenegro and Azerbaijan are very friendly and with concrete results.

“Lekić assessed that the regions in which these two countries are located share numerous similarities, both in the historical and geographical sense, which additionally contributes to better mutual understanding,” the announcement states.
At the meeting, as stated, numerous other important topics were raised, such as the impact and consequences of the war in Ukraine, and current political processes on the internal level in Montenegro.
