The Belgian Tourism Congress, which opened in Budva, has brought together around 160 representatives from tour operators, travel agencies, and key players in the Belgian tourism industry to Montenegro.

The congress, held with the support of the National Tourism Organization (NTO), is one of the most important events for establishing and strengthening cooperation with the Belgian market.

According to the NTO, Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić stated at the forum that Belgian travelers increasingly value destination safety, pleasant climate, and comfort during their travels.

“Montenegro offers just that – a combination of authentic experiences, natural beauty, and an ever-improving tourism offer,” said Kordić, adding that sustainability is playing an increasingly significant role in destination choice, especially among Belgian guests.

She noted that Montenegro is actively developing tourism that aligns with ecological principles, relies on local products and communities, and involves visitors more in preserving natural resources.

“We want our guests to experience the country through its authentic flavors, scents, and landscapes, while feeling that they are part of a broader vision – a vision of tourism that preserves rather than depletes. Through direct communication with our Belgian partners, we aim to further strengthen Montenegro’s position in the Belgian market and foster a deeper understanding of the potential our destination offers,” Kordić stated.

Ana Tripković Marković, Director of NTO, emphasized that the Belgian Tourism Congress is of great strategic importance for Montenegro, as it brings together key decision-makers from the Belgian tourism industry and facilitates direct business meetings that lead to concrete agreements.

“We are delighted to host the two largest Belgian tour operator associations, which collectively represent over a thousand members, and 160 of their representatives are currently in Montenegro. During the congress, the NTO successfully organized a business workshop where our entrepreneurs made direct connections with Belgian partners, which, alongside the strong interest on both sides, further confirmed the importance of such meetings for strengthening cooperation,” Tripković Marković said.

She also added that representatives from Belgian airlines and airports are present at the forum, expressing interest in establishing and strengthening air connectivity with Montenegro, which would contribute to increasing tourist traffic from that market.

The NTO stated that over the next three days, Belgian partners will have the opportunity to explore the diverse offerings of Montenegro, including hotel accommodations, natural beauty, rich culture and history, authentic cuisine, and a wide range of activities.
