In the first half of this year, the busiest air routes within the former Yugoslavia were those connecting Montenegro and Serbia, specifically flights between Podgorica and Tivat to Belgrade, as reported by the ExYU Aviation portal.
The top route was Belgrade – Podgorica, which saw a total of 148,354 passengers from January to June 2024. This represents a 3.9% increase compared to the same period last year and a 4.9% rise from pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
Following closely, the second busiest route was Belgrade – Tivat, with 116,942 passengers. Although this is a 3.3% decrease from the first half of 2023, traffic on this route has jumped by 29.9% compared to 2019.
In total, there were 265,296 passengers on flights between Belgrade and the two Montenegrin airports during the first six months of this year.
Rounding out the top three was the Zagreb – Dubrovnik route, which recorded 103,049 passengers in the same timeframe.
