Nearly 4 million euros will be invested in a football training camp in the Lješnica settlement of Bijelo Polje. The project will feature two football pitches, one with natural grass and the other with artificial turf, along with club facilities. The development is a collaboration between FK Jedinstvo, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, and the Football Association of Montenegro (FSCG).
Construction work is largely underway, with earthworks about 90% complete. The artificial turf pitch has drainage and irrigation systems installed, and final layers of gravel and turf will follow. A retaining wall is being built to protect the pitches from landslides and water runoff. The main building near the natural grass pitch will include 800 square meters of locker rooms, gym, offices, medical facilities, and storage areas.
The artificial turf pitch is expected to be ready by the end of September, allowing the club to stop traveling to Mojkovac for training. Once completed, the camp will include a 300-meter embankment along the Lješnica River to prevent flooding and connections to electricity and water. The camp is planned to be fully operational by spring next year.
The new facility will allow FK Jedinstvo and other local clubs to train youth teams more effectively, host regional, national, and international tournaments, and offer training camps for other clubs. The project aims to be financially sustainable through these activities.
The FSCG purchased the land for 550,000 euros and awarded the construction contract for 3.3 million euros. The Municipality of Bijelo Polje contributed 25% of the financing and built a bridge over the Lješnica River to provide access to the camp, a prerequisite for starting construction.
