The capital budget for this year significantly supports the development of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, continuing the realization of key infrastructure projects, said the head of the parliamentary group of the Bosniak Party (BS), Amer Smailović.

Smailović emphasized that the BS intervened with the government to ensure, in line with the agreement signed with the Europe Now Movement, funding for the continuation of the Đalovića Pećina project (€610,000) and the Cmiljača Ski Center (€2.3 million).

The statement further notes that, in addition to other projects, the government secured funding for the reconstruction of the existing hospital building in Bijelo Polje (€105,000), as well as €600,000 for the adaptation and equipping of three operating rooms at the General Hospital in Bijelo Polje.

“Through amendments proposed by the Bosniak Party, which became part of the conclusion of the Committee for Economy and Finance, an additional €550,000 was secured for the Local Infrastructure Construction Program, which will be used for the construction and asphalting of roads: Goduša – Azane, Godijevo – Kradenik, and the road in Ličine in the MZ Korita,” the statement said.

Smailović, speaking about the reconstruction of the Srđevac – Sušica road (Phase I), noted that this project is also included in the budget for this year, but work is expected to begin once all land expropriation disputes are resolved.

“All of these projects are of great importance for the development of our municipality and the daily functioning of its residents. I believe that the government and the Directorate for Capital Projects, in cooperation with the Bijelo Polje municipality, will make effective use of the funds allocated through the capital budget and speed up the implementation of all these projects,” Smailović concluded.
