The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has become a member of the European Automated Clearing House Association (EACHA).

According to CBCG, EACHA is an organization that brings together European clearing houses and providers of clearing services. By joining, CBCG has become part of a community of 29 members, including central banks of the European System of Central Banks, central banks from the region, and several key European payment infrastructure institutions.

Membership in EACHA provides the Central Bank of Montenegro with greater visibility within the European central banking and payments community, confirming its credibility and alignment with the highest European standards in payment systems. CBCG also gains access to the latest standards, documents, and guidelines that define best practices in European payment systems, which is particularly important for strategic projects such as SEPA integration and the implementation of the national instant payment system (TIPS Clone).

EACHA also represents the interests of its members before European institutions, including the European Central Bank, the European Payments Council (EPC), and other key stakeholders in the payments sector. Through membership, CBCG has the opportunity to actively participate in working groups and thematic forums dedicated to developing common technical standards and interoperability frameworks, especially in the area of instant payments, further strengthening its role in European payment infrastructure.

CBCG emphasizes that membership in EACHA also brings broader benefits to Montenegro by supporting the integration of the domestic financial system into the European framework and promoting the adoption of best practices in payment systems. This contributes to the modernization of the national payment infrastructure and aligns with the country’s long-term goal of full integration with the European financial market.
