The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has released an updated list of companies with blocked accounts, showing 32 more blocked companies than the previous list.

The new list, published monthly in accordance with the Payment Transactions Act, includes 20,990 companies registered with the Central Registry of Business Entities (CRPS) and the CBCG. Of these, 3,460 companies are registered with the CBCG but not listed in the CRPS. According to the law, CBCG is required to publish data related to enforced collection procedures, including company names, identification numbers, amounts of account blocks, and the duration of continuous account blocking.

CBCG explained that identification numbers for individual entrepreneurs are not published because in the Central Registry of Transaction Accounts, these are linked to citizens’ unique personal identification numbers (JMB), and publishing these would violate personal data protection laws.

The CBCG publishes this data once a month on its website, on the first working day after the month ends, reflecting the status as of the last day of that month. The list is ordered alphabetically by company and entrepreneur names to ensure full impartiality.

From July 2012, when CBCG began publishing these data, until January 9, 2014, the information was published according to the then-valid Payment Transactions Act, and only for companies or entrepreneurs whose account blocks exceeded €10,000 continuously for more than 30 days.

The names of the companies are published on the CBCG website (www.cbcg.me) in alphabetical order to ensure transparency and fairness.
