In November, the prices of products and services for personal consumption in Montenegro, measured by the consumer price index, increased by an average of 1.7% compared to the same month last year, according to data from Monstat. Consumer prices in November rose by 0.2% compared to October.
The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate came from the increase in prices of vegetables, clothing, short-term household maintenance goods, fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, milk, cheese, and eggs, rent paid by tenants for primary residences, and personal care items.
From January to November, consumer prices were, on average, 3.4% higher compared to the same period last year.
Looking at the main product and service groups based on consumption purposes, November saw price increases in the following categories compared to the previous month: clothing and footwear by 1%, furniture, household equipment, and routine household maintenance by 0.9%, other goods and services by 0.3%, transportation by 0.2%, food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, and health by 0.1% each.
Price decreases were recorded in the restaurant and hotel group (0.7%), recreation and culture (0.3%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and communications (0.1% each).
Prices of other products and services remained largely unchanged.
