Montenegro sees over 8% growth in customs revenues in first five months of 2025

Total customs revenue collected from January to May amounted to €520.6 million, which is €39.17 million or 8.14% higher compared to the same period last year.

The Customs Administration stated that, compared to the planned estimate, gross revenues were higher by €19.77 million, or 3.95%.

According to the revenue structure, value-added tax (VAT) collected on imports reached €349.06 million, which is an increase of €25.04 million, or 7.73%, compared to the previous year, the statement said.

It was also noted that, compared to the budget revenue plan, VAT collected on imports exceeded expectations by €7.06 million, according to Mina.

Excise duties collected amounted to €144.11 million, up by €10.18 million or 7.61% compared to the previous year. Relative to the budget plan, gross excise revenue was higher by €9.4 million, or 6.99%, the statement added.

The Customs Administration reported that customs duties collected amounted to €26.3 million, which is €3.87 million or 17.27% higher than the previous year.

Compared to the budget revenue plan, customs duties collected exceeded the target by €3.25 million or 14.10%. Coffee tax revenue totaled €1.05 million, while other revenues collected amounted to €106,046, the Customs Administration said.
