Egyptian investors show strong interest in tourism and infrastructure projects in Zeta region

A group of investors from Egypt has expressed interest in investing in the Zeta region of Montenegro, with a particular focus on the coastal area of Lake Skadar and several other locations. These investors specialize in hospitality and the construction of large resorts.

During a meeting between Montenegro’s Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, representatives of the Zeta Municipality, and the Egyptian investors, discussions centered on cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing infrastructure projects and investment opportunities in transport and tourism sectors.

Minister Vukićević highlighted Montenegro’s readiness to welcome serious investors who can contribute to the country’s development. The meeting covered specific locations and potentials offered by Zeta Municipality and other parts of Montenegro, as well as cooperation models to enable joint projects in line with existing laws and planning documents.

Jelena Aligrudić, acting Secretary for Spatial Planning, Environmental Protection, and Transport, noted that the investors showed strong interest not only in hotel projects but also in eco-resorts, aqua parks, and sports complexes. She emphasized Zeta’s strategic position due to its early urban and tourism development, proximity to the airport, coast, and capital city, making it an attractive investment destination.

Particular attention was given to the area around Lake Skadar, especially the coastal zones and river flows feeding into the lake, identified as promising locations for tourism and environmentally sustainable projects. Further activities will include site visits, investment discussions, analysis of studies and conceptual designs, and exchanges with potential partners to advance these projects.
