The Swiss company Endeq is the fifth bidder in the public call for investors in the Steel Mill, as reported by Vijesti. They have submitted an offer to purchase the Nikšić factory to Elektroprivreda.
The international public call for leasing the operations of the Steel Mill and Forge closed on Friday, with offers from Wiesinger, 8B Capital S.A., a consortium of Kvalitetsbygg-Uber Nordic, and a consortium of Universal Energy (China) – Energy&Industrial Management Advisory Services (Czech Republic) and Neksan (Nikšić).
Endeq announced its investment intentions in Montenegro earlier this month during a meeting at the Ministry of Energy, attended by representatives from several ministries, various state energy companies, and the President’s office.
During this meeting, the potential investor stated that they are prepared to invest up to 870 million euros in multiple energy projects, independent of the offer for the Steel Mill.
The public call for leasing the operations of the Nikšić factory was issued on December 11th of last year. The received offers will be opened at the beginning of the next week.
