During the ecological reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant (TPP Pljevlja), Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) reported certain deficiencies and delays may occur. The project is complex in both scope and execution, and work has been ongoing for several years. EPCG has maximized monitoring and allocated all available resources over the past six months to complete the project according to the dynamic schedule.
The contractor, DEC consortium, initially committed to finishing by December 1, while EPCG requested completion by November 15. Most identified issues have been addressed, except for some related to the fire protection system and boiler adaptation, which will be discussed with the contractor.
EPCG has redirected about fifteen additional workers, primarily welders and mechanics, to accelerate key subprojects. Continuous monitoring and adjustments are being made to ensure work progresses efficiently. Additional contractor engagement, skilled labor, subcontractors, machinery, and shift work are planned to address delays and deficiencies.
Due to the slowdown at TPP Pljevlja this year, both EPCG and the coal mine will incur financial losses, with EPCG expected to spend 75–80 million euros on imported electricity.
