EPCG Solar Construction is poised for a bright future, being one of the few state-owned enterprises that truly operates effectively and generates revenue, according to Milutin Đukanović, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda (EPCG).
At a ceremonial event held at the Nikšić Theater to mark the third anniversary of EPCG Solar Construction, Đukanović emphasized the company’s critical role in advancing Montenegro’s energy sector.
He stated that renewable energy sources represent the future, and there is significant potential to install hundreds of megawatts.
“We plan to significantly increase the installation of solar panels, including the 200 megawatt (MW) Velje Brdo solar power plant and a 40 MW floating solar power project at Slano Lake. Next year, EPCG intends to launch additional projects, such as the Krupac Ozrinići and Kapino Polje solar plants, where Solar Construction will be essential,” Đukanović announced.
Marko Kovačević, President of the Municipality of Nikšić, highlighted Solar Construction’s importance as a catalyst for economic growth in the area, comparing it to once-thriving companies like Boksit and Željezara. “I believe this firm will spearhead the economic development of both our city and the country,” Kovačević stated.
Marina Jočić, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of EPCG Solar Construction, called for continued dedication from employees, noting that the company’s progress and their improved status depend on their efforts. “I believe this company can become one of the most successful in Montenegro, enabling us to provide better standards for our employees, including higher wages and housing solutions,” Jočić remarked.
Milutin Marojević, Acting Executive Director of EPCG Solar Construction, congratulated the employees on the company’s anniversary and underscored the strong link between Solar Construction and its parent company. “I want to acknowledge the leadership and colleagues at EPCG for their unwavering support since day one. As a subsidiary, we are part of a significant investment cycle focused on developing new green energy sources. There’s no doubt that renewable energy is the future, and I am confident we are headed in the right direction,” Marojević concluded.
