Belgian Ambassador Kati Bugenhaut emphasized that Montenegro’s accession to the European Union (EU) will make the country more economically resilient and attractive for investments.
In a meeting with Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović, they acknowledged the friendly ties between Belgium and Montenegro, marked by active political dialogue and a strong NATO partnership.
Bugenhaut assured that Belgium will continue to support Montenegro’s EU integration and promote expansion policies.
Ibrahimović expressed appreciation for Belgium’s ongoing assistance in this process and noted significant progress during Belgium’s EU Council presidency earlier this year, which included organizing two Intergovernmental Conferences and receiving a positive report on meeting interim criteria.
The conversation also highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation in areas such as science, culture, and tourism, as well as further strengthening of bilateral economic relations.
