Investment in development projects through the economic citizenship program

During the duration of the Investment Program of special importance for the economic interest of Montenegro, which is known as economic citizenship, and ended on December 31st, 2022, the Government included 16 projects in the list of development projects, the total investment in development projects was 444 .32 million EUR.
During the implementation of the Special Program ending on July 10th, 2023, EUR 43,530,344 was paid to the payment account of the competent authority for the purpose of the costs of the procedure, according to the Government announcement.
According to the data generated from the software for economic citizenship, for the purpose of developing less developed local self-government units, a total of EUR 53.5 million was deposited into the ESCROW account, while EUR 41.8 million was paid into the special account of the competent authority for this purpose.
For the purposes of investing in one of the development projects, EUR 157,406,293 was deposited into the ESCROW account, while the total amount paid to investors for this purpose was EUR 120,215,812.
A total of EUR 37.6 million was deposited into the ESCROW account for the purpose of investing in the Innovation Fund of Montenegro.
During the duration of the program, according to data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a total of 487 requests were submitted by applicants, including 1,119 members of their immediate families. So far, as of May 7th, 2023, a total of 808 decisions on admission to Montenegrin citizenship have been issued, as well as 12 decisions on the suspension of the procedure.
