European Commission to continue supporting Montenegro’s employment and social dialogue initiatives

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion will continue to support the ambitious agenda of Montenegro’s Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, aiming for the swift closure of relevant negotiation chapters. This commitment was expressed during a meeting in Brussels between Minister Naida Nišić and Directorate Director Mario Nava.

The meeting highlighted the intensified cooperation between Montenegro and the European Commission, with Nava praising the reforms implemented within the Ministry. He specifically noted improvements in labor market policies, the preparation of the Employment Agency through digitalization and enhancing human capacity for the challenges that await this institution upon Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.

Nava also commended Montenegro’s alignment of its legislation with EU legal standards. The Directorate-General reiterated its commitment to supporting Minister Nišić’s ambitious agenda to facilitate the quick closure of negotiation chapters under her jurisdiction.
