Foreign trade exchange EUR 2.95 billion

The total foreign trade of Montenegro in the first eight months, according to Monstat’s preliminary data, amounted to EUR 2.95 billion, which is 6.8 percent more compared to the same period last year.

Monstat announced that exported goods were worth EUR 453.7 million, which is 3.5 percent less compared to the comparative period. Imports were nine percent higher and amounted to EUR 2.5 billion.

“The coverage of imports by exports amounted to 18.2 percent and is lower compared to the same period of the previous year, when it was 20.5 percent,” the announcement states.

In the export structure, mineral fuels and lubricants are the most represented in the amount of EUR 201.6 million, which are made up of electricity with EUR 181.6 million and others.

In the structure of imports, machines and transport devices are the most represented in the amount of EUR 573.6 million, which are made up of road vehicles with EUR 204.4 million and others.

The largest foreign trade partners in exports were Serbia with EUR 118.6 million, Bosnia and Herzegovina with EUR 57.9 million and Slovenia with EUR 55.8 million.

The largest foreign trade partners in imports were Serbia with EUR 440.9 million, China with EUR 283 million and Germany with EUR 231.5 million.

Foreign trade was the largest with the signatories of the Central European Free Trade Area (CEFTA) and with the European Union (EU).
