Construction of the Gvozd wind farm is progressing according to plan, announced last week by Ivan Bulatović, Executive Director of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG). A video from Bemax, the company handling construction and infrastructure work, shows ongoing concrete foundation work for turbine number 7.
The project, valued at 82 million euros and financially supported by KfW Bank, features a total capacity of 54.6 megawatts (MW) with 13 turbines. It is expected to generate approximately 150 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, enough to supply over 25,000 households. This represents an important step toward reducing CO₂ emissions and advancing Montenegro’s energy transition.
Bulatović emphasized the wind farm’s significance for sustainable development and expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress. He hopes the first kilowatt-hours will be produced by the end of this year.
Additionally, EPCG previously announced plans to begin construction of Gvozd 2 next year, with an expected capacity of 21–22 MW.
