Mentorship support in the early stages of business can be crucial for the long-term success of a company, as it helps define strategy, avoid common mistakes, and make key decisions that impact stability and growth, said Nikola Vulikić, director of Spark Media.
He emphasized that the mentorship he received through the Ministry of Economic Development’s program significantly contributed to improving the quality of services offered by his company, founded in 2022, which specializes in photography, video production, and graphic design.
Vulikić learned about the program through recommendations from colleagues who had previously benefited from support programs for young entrepreneurs. Encouraged by their positive experiences and results, he applied himself, hoping the program would assist in business development and service enhancement.
According to Vulikić, the mentor’s support was key in shaping a long-term vision and business strategy. It helped create a clear direction for the company, which is vital for any young entrepreneur starting out.
Specific examples of mentorship benefits included guidance on creating a modern and functional website to improve service promotion and accessibility, as well as advice on expanding consulting services related to photography and video production.
Besides the knowledge and guidance from mentoring, Vulikić also acquired professional equipment through the program, which he says will enhance the quality of services and enable the company to offer better and more professional solutions to clients.
Vulikić highly recommends the program to other young entrepreneurs, stressing that investment in both equipment and knowledge through mentorship is essential for a successful business start. The program provides not only financial support but also expert guidance that can be decisive for company growth.
Looking ahead, Vulikić plans to maintain and improve cooperation with existing clients while expanding the business based on mentor recommendations. He aims to follow industry trends, enhance services, and increase market presence to become a recognized name in photo and video production.
A long-term goal is to employ more young people, thereby increasing company capacity and offering opportunities for talented individuals to gain experience and develop skills in a professional environment.
He believes that investing in young talent is the best way to secure the company’s long-term success and contribute to the community by creating new jobs.
The project “Strengthening and Expanding Mentoring Services in the Western Balkans – Phase IV” is implemented by the Ministry of Economic Development under a technical cooperation agreement between the governments of Japan and Montenegro, facilitated by the Ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
