The sharp rise in prices has erased the effects of wage growth and seriously affected citizens’ living standards, particularly pensioners, whose situation has worsened due to inflation. Despite the alarming price increases, the government remains silent and inactive, which is unacceptable, said Miloš Konatar, head of the parliamentary group of the Citizens’ Movement URA.
He referred to a report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which showed that inflation in August 2025 reached 4.6% and continues to rise.
“Inflation is accelerating, and unfortunately, projections indicate that price growth will persist in the fourth quarter of this year. We urgently need consultations with the Chamber of Commerce and employers’ associations to propose measures that will stop or at least ease the rise in prices. These measures should include renewing the ‘Stop Inflation’ campaign, reducing tax burdens on essential goods and services, and stabilizing the business environment,” Konatar concluded.
