The official opening of the winter season at the Kolašin 1600 ski center will take place soon.
Ski Resorts of Montenegro have announced a vibrant music program to symbolically mark the start of winter and kick off the ski season.
Đuro Milošević, Executive Director of Ski Resorts of Montenegro, stated that a daytime party will be held starting at 11 a.m., followed by a gathering at the Troglava restaurant from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., as reported by Mediabiro.
“During the day, there will be a promotion of traditional wines from the Plantaže company, as well as a Red Bull promotion where promoters from the advertising car will distribute their products for free. We hope guests will be satisfied, and we are expecting nice weather. I would like to welcome both local and regional visitors,” said Milošević.
The fun will continue on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors will have the chance to enjoy a panoramic ride, and the rest of the infrastructure is also ready for heavier snowfalls and the ski season.
“We have conveyor belts for beginners, two six-seat lifts (K7 and K8), and new additions include two T-bar ski lifts, one 400 meters long and the other 800 meters long. This is a significant improvement for the Kolašin 1600 ski center. Currently, we are facing a minor issue with one of the poles of the K7 lift, but we expect that to be resolved this week. Once we have enough snow to prepare the slopes and start skiing, the entire infrastructure at Kolašin 1600 will be fully operational,” said Milošević.
Ski Resorts of Montenegro are hopeful for a successful winter season, hoping for more snow and a higher number of ski days.
“Currently, there are about 20 centimeters of snow at the ski center, which is not yet enough for skiing, but we are hoping for more snow and are closely monitoring the weather forecast. Unfortunately, we do not have a snowmaking system. Snowfall is expected on December 25, and we are ready; we just need enough snow for the machines to compact the slopes,” Milošević explained.
He also reminded that the prices remain the same as last year, with a daily ski pass priced at 25 EUR.
“We’ve secured discounts for residents of Kolašin, Mojkovac, Berane, and Andrijevica. The promotional sale of seasonal ski passes is still ongoing, which includes three days of free skiing at Jahorina, ski resorts in Serbia, and North Macedonia. Additionally, holders of seasonal ski passes from these resorts can ski for free for three days here. This is a great opportunity for people to connect and discover other ski centers,” said Milošević.
Milošević announced that there will be a range of exciting events and activities at the Kolašin 1600 ski center throughout the season and encouraged everyone to create unforgettable memories on Bjelasica this winter.
