Đuro Milošević, Executive Director of Ski Resorts of Montenegro, stated that attendance has been good, even though official skiing has not yet begun. He mentioned that the conveyor belt and the K8 panoramic chairlift are in operation, and the ski lifts will soon be ready.

“We expect more snowfall in the coming days, and only a little snow is needed for trail grooming. We hope this will be a sign of a great season, and that everything will proceed smoothly for the satisfaction of guests, Kolašin, and all of Montenegro,” said Milošević.

Current snowfalls were enough to attract a large number of visitors, who enjoyed everything the ski resort offers throughout the day.

Dženis Nurković, a representative of Ski Resorts of Montenegro, noted that their target audience is mainly domestic guests, but there has been a significant number of visitors from the region, Albania, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine today. He expects the number of visitors to increase as the conditions improve at Kolašin 1600.

“Snow has been forecasted in the coming days, and we hope to officially start skiing and snowboarding. The weather conditions are very promising, and I believe this season will be successful as all necessary preparations have been made for its successful execution,” said Nurković.

This season’s new additions include two new ski lifts, a 400-meter T-bar and an 800-meter button lift. Together with the existing two six-seat chairlifts, they cover more than 20 kilometers of trails. With the lower ski resort, this totals about 45 kilometers of tracks. “This is an optimal trail length that will provide excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding,” added Nurković.

The price for a daily ski pass for adults is 25 EUR, while for children it is 16.5 EUR. A three-day pass for adults costs 56.5 EUR, and for children, it’s 37.5 EUR. The annual ski pass for adults is 400 EUR, and for children, it is 250 EUR.

In addition to snow activities, many visitors to Kolašin 1600 enjoyed a quality music program. DJ VLAA got the crowd dancing at the beginning, and the fun continued at the Troglava restaurant, where talented young musician Petar Bulatović performed.

“I’m glad there’s snow and that many people came. This is definitely an important event for Kolašin and Montenegro,” said Bulatović.

The official opening of the winter season was supported by representatives of the Kolašin Municipality and the Kolašin Tourist Organization.

Zorica Milašinović, Director of the Kolašin Tourist Organization, expressed hope that this season would be much better than the previous one. “Additional snow is expected on Monday, and we hope it will allow us to groom the trails. We’ve also prepared additional offerings in the city, including the opening of a New Year’s Bazaar, where a music and entertainment program will be organized during the holidays,” Milašinović said.

She also mentioned that daily parties would be held at Trg boraca, and anyone looking to warm up afterward could visit the local venues. “From January 10 to 19, we will have the fourth Kolašin Winter Art Festival, which will kick off with a concert by Verica Čuljković,” Milašinović added.
