Masdar identifies Montenegro as priority for energy expansion

Masdar prioritizes Montenegro in its Eastern Europe expansion, bringing capital, expertise, and readiness for large-scale projects, said CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi.

He met with Montenegro’s Minister of Energy and Mining, Admir Šahmanović, in Abu Dhabi to discuss enhancing cooperation and developing new energy projects. Šahmanović highlighted that existing collaboration through the Krnovo wind farm provides a strong foundation for more ambitious initiatives.

Šahmanović emphasized Montenegro’s energy potential, noting that major infrastructure investments require strong partnerships and pooled resources. He described the energy sector as a key driver for economic growth, job creation, and long-term stability, stressing the careful selection of strategic partners aligned with Montenegro’s vision for a sustainable and robust energy sector.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a favorable business environment, clear procedures, a stable regulatory framework, and faster administration, ensuring investor confidence and making the energy sector a pillar of economic growth and energy independence.
