Since the start of the year, a total of 450,740 vehicles have traveled along the Princess Ksenija highway. Data from Monteput’s website, responsible for managing the highway stretch from Smokovac to Mateševo, indicates that vehicle traffic from March 24th to 30th amounted to 37,330.
In the previous year, the highway saw a total of 2.29 million vehicles, while since its opening in mid-July of 2022, a cumulative total of 1.14 million vehicles have passed through.
The priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway was inaugurated on July 13, 2022, with traffic commencing the following day. Toll charges were waived for the initial seven days, after which toll rates were set at 1.5 EUR for motorcycles, 3.5 EUR for passenger vehicles, and 17 EUR for trucks and buses.
Stretching over 41.5 kilometers, the highway’s first section boasts 20 main route bridges, nine ramp loop bridges, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.
Four interchanges, equipped with toll booths, facilitate connections to existing infrastructure at Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.
The maximum speed limit on the highway is capped at 100 kilometers per hour.
