Minister of Energy and Mining, Saša Mujović, announced the upcoming operation of a hot-dip galvanizing facility at the Nikšić Ironworks in response to comments by certain politicians regarding the Solar 5000+ energy efficiency program.
The minister stated that this idea is in its infancy and first needs to be verified by the Board of Directors of EPCG (Electric Power Industry of Montenegro), followed by a public call to determine the program’s conditions.
He emphasized efforts to revitalize the Ironworks, aiming to ensure direct benefits for citizens from companies that contribute to local development. The initiative allows citizens to produce electricity, enhance energy efficiency, and generate surplus electricity for sale on the market. Minister Mujović highlighted the newly created Renewable Energy Utilization Law as legislative support for these efforts, aligning with national energy goals for 2030.
Additionally, Minister Mujović announced a new project focused on manufacturing anodized metalwork at the Nikšić Ironworks at highly competitive prices.
It’s worth noting that Mujović had previously unveiled plans for producing anodized metalwork at the Nikšić Ironworks just yesterday.
