The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development (MERS) has signed a contract with the Municipality of Berane to provide a donation of €36,630 for the development of road infrastructure in the Dapsići local community.
According to the Ministry, the funds will come from the budget through a special program, with the goal of enhancing essential infrastructure in Dapsići, an area primarily focused on agricultural activities.
“Advancing the northern part of Montenegro through sustainable projects, such as improving the road network, is crucial for boosting agricultural production,” the Ministry emphasized.
They also noted that quality road infrastructure plays a significant role in reducing harmful gas emissions, thereby helping to protect the environment and ensuring clean air, which is vital for public health.
Minister Damjan Ćulafić expressed that more similar projects will be implemented in the future.
“The development of the north can only be achieved through concrete actions, diligent efforts, and recognizing the priorities of local communities. This project exemplifies smaller yet highly effective measures to assist local areas. I am committed to directing more resources to northern municipalities, depending on next year’s budget, to support the implementation of their priority projects,” Ćulafić stated.
This initiative represents just one step in a larger plan aimed at sustainable development in the northern region, focused on improving living and working conditions for local residents.
