Ministry of Finance strengthens EU fund management cooperation with Czech Republic

The State Secretary and National Certifying Officer, Milica Adžić, along with General Director Velibor Damjanović and the Management Team, are on a three-day visit to the national authorities of the Czech Republic. During this visit, they are exchanging experiences on managing EU funds during the pre-accession period and creating a stable institutional framework for structural and cohesion funds, as announced by the Ministry of Finance.

The visit included a meeting between Adžić and Jiří Georgiev, the General Director of the Directorate for the European Union and International Relations at the Czech Ministry of Finance. The discussions highlighted Montenegro’s successful integration process and the Czech Republic’s support for Montenegro on this path.

During the meetings, the focus was placed on lessons learned in systemic procedures and the implementation of internal control frameworks. This included examining actions and mechanisms that add value to management structures while promoting the highest level of protection for EU financial interests.

Recognizing the importance of EU funds for the development of the national economy, the Ministry of Finance team will continue to exchange experiences with their Czech counterparts. The discussions will cover strengthening capacities for stable management of structural and cohesion funds, the role of the National Coordination Body, managing authorities, and the established mechanisms for monitoring the efficiency and transparency of spending funds available through EU funds.
