In June 2025, households in Montenegro consumed 114,794,118 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, which is an increase of 15.41 percent compared to consumption in May 2025. Compared to June 2024, electricity consumption rose by 4.79 percent, according to a statement from the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG).
The average electricity bill for households in Montenegro in June, excluding unread metering points in uninhabited properties, amounted to 31.34 euros. Households in Pljevlja recorded the lowest average electricity bill at 18.92 euros, while the highest average consumption was registered in Kotor, where households paid an average of 40.07 euros.
EPCG reported that 65.91 percent of households will receive a bill of up to 30 euros. Another 17.70 percent of consumers fall within the 30 to 50 euro range, 12.92 percent will receive bills between 50 and 100 euros, and 3.47 percent of customers had electricity bills exceeding 100 euros.
A total of 207,875 households, or 51.66 percent of all households in Montenegro, qualified for a discount. An additional discount of 6.4 percent on grid services is granted to all households connected to EPCG’s distribution system, regardless of any outstanding debt, in order to offset the increase in grid service prices.
